Kambalda stands on the threshold of an exciting new era.

Not since Western Mining Corporation revitalised the old mining town when it established Australias first nickel mine in the 60s has this region embraced such change! The birth of the Kambalda Community & Recreation Centre is poised to breathe new life into this proud mining communityand those who call it home.

This $13.62 million project will transform the Kambalda community by creating a public place that will embrace and nurture culture, recreation and leisure. The Kambalda Community & Recreation Centre will be a vibrant, multi purpose centre that will become the focal point of the community.

This new heart in the heart of Australias Number 1 Nickel Town is a vision inspired by the Shire of Coolgardie to bring the community together; to enhance inter-generational relationships, and provide long-overdue purpose built facilities for community groups, and recreational and sporting bodies within the Shire.

It will serve all sectors of the community from children, families and schools, to community and sporting groups, corporate visitors and an anticipated influx of tourists.

Kambaldas new Community & Recreation Centre will create
a vibrant heart in the township that
will stand as a testament to
the vision of those who brought it to life.
